Trash Bin Pet

Trash Bin Pet

Question: Weird problem with the Recycle bin....?

So I was deleting some files today and when I went to recycle bin to empty it after deleting everything I hit empty recycle bin and it said "Cannot delete file: cannot read from source file or disk." So i was like what the crap and went in and deleted everything individually, and so there was nothing left in the bin. But on the desktop, the icon is full of trash like there is something still in there, so I right click it and click "empty" again, but it gives me the same message. Then when i open the bin there is still nothing in there. So i go to "restore all items" and that doesn't make a difference, neither in restoring any files nor making the recycle bin empty. It's like the computer thinks there is a file stuck in there when there is not.

The thing is, i have this weird pet peeve where the recycle bin always has to be empty, so it is going to drive me crazy until i can figure out how to empty it. Any suggestions?

Windows XP Media Center Edition, SP2

Answer: There might literally be a hidden file in the recycle bin. The file cannot be deleted because there is a program that rely s on it to operate. Go to tools-folder options-view-show hidden files and folders. I am not a hundred percent sure.
