Question: How does electronic waste gets recycled? Does anyone know the actual process? What actually happens?
I am asking more about the actual process of recycling items such as computers. Does anyone know how the companies actually break down the ingredients?
Answer: Recycling electronics and appliances involves disassembling the machines, takes out a few valuable metals, then smashes the plastic to small bits. Various separators are used to sort out the different materials, which are then recycled separately.
There are a few areas in Europe that recycle electronics, but little in Americas, Asia, or Africa. Here in Florida, everything is put into land fills. Our county is poor and rural, has loose regulations, and has 5 new land fills in the last year. They are bringing in trash from hundreds of miles away to dump in our county. I think the money we are spending for global warming should be spent recycling all this trash instead of just burying it!

One of the great things about organic waste is that with time and the right conditions it will decompose. But this should not be interpreted mean that you can run all sorts of organic material onto your compost heap.
But recycling your yard waste by composting is a great way to go. You can take your lawn clippings, leaves, hedge trimmings and scraps of plants that are "non-woody" and add them to your compost pile. You can even add the wood items if you do you first that they were cut into small pieces.
In most home composting, the largest contributor is the huge amount of leaves that rain down every fall season. There are organic materials which must be avoided and should not be added because of potential risks to health or nuisance that can be created. No type stool pet should be included in a compost heap because of potential diseases that can be transmitted. Any type of meat, eggs, dairy products and fats should also be excluded because they attract rodents and other vermin.
In most cases, patients organizations are common to plants and weed seeds are destroyed by the composting process, as long as these components are in the center of the pile and the temperature in the center reaches at least 140 degrees F. But experts warn it is difficult to ensure that such waste will be brought to the center during the composting process. As a result, putting large quantities of diseased plants or weed seeds in your compost pile can end up causing problems and should be avoided.
A good compost pile needs a balance of materials that will improve the process of decomposition. In general, maintaining the mixture at a ration of about one to one of brown material with green material works well.
Brown material includes items such as manure, decaying leaves, and paper and cardboard. Green materials include the hedge and grass clippings, coffee grounds and peels of fruits and vegetables.
It's a good idea to keep the compost pile contained in any structure. This not only contributes to accelerate the decomposition process, but also reduces the space required. You can pick up compost bins at most gardening stores and they are a great way to help you manage your compost while helping to keep your backyard looking clean and tidy.
