Question: Can radioactive waste radiation cause an electic field in superconducter?
Are the electrons in a superconducter "loose" enough to be moved by the radiation from radioactive waste? If a superconducting container were constructed to hold radioactive waste, could it generate electricity?
Answer: Even if it did generate a potential, the
radiation is random, so the net potential
would be zero.
You might get some energy out of the stuff with
thermocouples if you had the nerve to pack it
densely. (Verrry dangerous).

The modernization and digitization have proved to be worthy for the world and humanity but also gave us a threat in the form of e-waste. With the increasing use of electronic and electrical equipment, collection of electronic waste accumulate also.
E-waste or electronic waste is a term used for electronic equipment that has reached the end of the year life in the hands of its current user. These devices when disassembled or destroyed are either taken for reuse or slated for disposal dangerous. Some e-waste can be recycled and are known as a "commodity" while those who can not be reused is classified as "waste".
E-Waste Market Size
The world market for waste E is estimated at 7.2 billion dollars in 2004 and is expected to grow at a rate of average annual growth of 8.8% until 2009 11 billion dollars.
- Due to the increasing demand of high value engineered plastics, the recycled plastics sector will register the maximum revenue growth. It will grow by 10.2% CAGR.

Reasons for the increase electronic waste
Because of the increased area of information society and the dependence of companies on the computer and Internet, e-waste have accumulated. Maybe e-waste is the fastest growing stream of municipal solid waste. Waste electronics has been rising rapidly with the development of information society. In developed countries, e-waste constitutes 1% of solid waste, but is expected to grow to 2% in 2010. In developing countries, the percentage of e-waste on solid waste ranges from 0.01% to 1%. But in future years, developing countries including countries, China will be the most strong market growth of e-waste. Over the next five years, electronic waste in developing countries has the potential to triple the amount at present.
The lifting assembly of electronic waste will not be cut recently. Computer sales rise at a rate of 10% worldwide and sales of DVD players are doubling each year. In addition the rate of obsolescence of electronic equipment is increasing. The life cycle of electrical and electronic are shortening. The period of life of a television set is reduced to 10 years while that of a computer is only 2-3 years. All the facts above are also responsible for the increase of electronic waste. Despite the horrific situation such manufacturers and governments have not kept pace with the electronic waste policy and practice. Finally, a high percentage of electronic products are found in the waste stream releasing harmful toxins into the environment.
