Petition drive to ban dog auctions and curb Ohio puppy mills continues: Animals in the News
About 2,500 breeding dogs and puppies are sold annually at the Farmerstown dog auction. Most of the dogs come from puppy mills, where dogs are kept in wire cages and bred repeatedly to supply pet stores, Internet sales and the auction.
