Liquid Laundry Detergent

Question: Does anyone remember a blue liquid laundry detergent called AJAX(back in hte 80s?) came in plastic white jug?
with blue letters. It was definatley a blue liquid detergent (with no bleach or bleach alternatives). It was for laundry and not dishes or cleaning... just laundry. If you have ever heard of it...please tell me where you can still buy it or if they have changed the name. It smelled gross from the container but it made your clothes smell soooooo good!
Answer: yes i remember ajax, used it some myself, but i'm not sure where you can get it now, it may have been discontinued because of not enough sales, there are so many brands out there that the competition is tough,
but, have you tried looking in some of the older grocery stores, walmart,

Ajax cleanser (or Ajax brand cleanser with bleach) is a liquid or powdered industrial cleaner introduced by Colgate-Palmolive in 1947. Its slogan was "Stronger than dirt!", a reference to the mythical character Ajax. The slogan would be used again for its Ajax Laundry Detergent, when introduced in the early-1960s, with an armed knight riding a white horse. In addition, a widely mocked commercial in the late-1970s/early-1980s declared, "Armed...with Ajax!"The first commercial jingle heard on television in the United States was for Ajax Cleanser in 1948. The jingle was "You'll stop paying the elbow tax, when you start cleaning with Ajax".

It is very annoying to find your clothes still stained after washing and drying them. In many cases, however, treatment of these spots clothing before leaving to join General laundry can make all the difference. It depends on the category of tasks that each may need different water temperatures, stain removers and disposal methods to be discussed. Here are the different types of stains and how to treat them:
In oil-based stains:
These stains include cooking oil, butter, makeup and even deodorants and petrol. You can also obtain dye-based oil in the rings around your shirt collar and cuffs. To clean these types of stains allow the detergent into the stained area, then washing the highest temperature that is safe for fabric. If the stain is still present, then you may need to repeat this process before putting it in the dryer because the heat will set the stain permanently. In many spots, such as tomato sauces, chocolate and pencils, are actually a combination of both types so you will need to address these two types of staining. First deal oil-based part of the stain, then treat dye-based portion.
Protein-based stains:
These patches include many food stains, such as eggs, baby food, milk products and milk and things like blood, mud and even vomit. Do not hot water as heat will set the protein and settle permanently in the fibers of the fabric, making the task impossible to remove. It must always use cold water for washing and rinsing the spots. Most liquid laundry detergents especially based enzymes gently rubbed over the area before washing is effective on protein stains and if the stain is very old and heavy so you may repeat this method. However, based on enzymes strippers detergents and stains are not suitable for wool and silk.
Tannin-based stains:
These stains are stains of tea, coffee, some soft drinks, fruit juices and wine. These spots are actually among the easiest of tasks to be removed if they are processed immediately - ongoing just cold water on the stained area, followed by washing as usual on a hot cycle, this will almost eliminate stains. Choose the hottest water that is safe for your type of fabric. If the stains are old so they must be pre-treated with detergent and then soaked in water for 30 minutes before being washed as usual. Never use bar soaps on tannin stains, because they can react with the stain and permanently set.
Dye-based stains:
These spots include anything brightly colored such as inks, trails grass, fruit juices, Kid's drinks, jams and even mustard. If you act fast enough, you can usually soak the stain out well you may need to repeat the soaking time of several years. First rinse with cold water and then rub some laundry detergent in the region stained, followed by a soak long before washing as usual. You use hot water, it is more effective on stains dye.
It's a good idea to keep a general stain-removing products around the house because time is critical when the fight against the stain. So make sure you keep things like baking soda, vinegar, lemon juice and a good laundry detergent useful background. You can also buy various commercial stain removers available.
