Question: Could I use the Eureka Enviro Steamer to steam and sanitize a mattress set? ?
I've read that professionals use steam, so would this make do as the thrifty method?
Answer: Yes, of course! Use your steamer with some Fabreze added to the water. Not only will they be cleaner, they'll smell really nice as well! Smart thinking!

Of all the creatures that I had to deal with bedbugs have got to be the most disgusting. I hate the tiny buggers! There are several species of bugs but this article will deal with the common bedbug (Cimex lectularius), as is most abundant, is found in most temperate climates around the world.
The common bedbug feeds on human blood and does not distinguish between blood groups. The adult has a reddish-brown flat oval body and measures about 4-5mm long. During feeding, their stomachs filled with blood and expands leaving the bug that looks like an apple seed with legs.
The bugs are still less widespread than formerly to be but they were taken a bit of a comeback lately. Although huge outbreaks may still occur, it is more usual to deal with infestations of small numbers of bugs. The bugs can enter the home through banks used sofas and curtains and can even be transferred into the luggage after visiting hostels, pensions, etc..
The bug does not bite really because it does not have chewing mouthparts, rather it uses two hollow tubes and injects its victim with an analgesic and anti-coagulant. This means that victim is blind to the bite until later with the onset of significant inflammation. Bites often occur in a tiny line. Some will have a hard painful white with a reddish swelling and secondary infection is always a risk with people scratch their itch. Revealing the details of Bedbug activity are small spots of blood on your sheets.
Regular vacuuming of these sites can eliminate the little suckers. A barrier Anti-bug cheap can be constructed by wrapping double sided tape around each leg of the bed.
Remove all linen and cleaning by washing with a high temperature (50 Celsius or 120 Fahrenheit). If you have a sofa bed, be sure to go to the very bottom with the boat steam. A stiff brush is handy to remove the eggs and pour hides seams. If you can disassemble your bed frame, do, as this may allow detect bugs hide. We must therefore use this as an excuse to conduct a spring cleaning of your room dark.
So what about those of professionals if you just take the easy route and pay for them to clarify your problem? Well, if you do, they will come and tell you to strip the bed so they can start using isopropyl alcohol to bed bugs in mattresses and mattress / divan base.
