Question: Can breast milk have bitter taste after being defrost in Plastic Storage bags?

After pumping, my wife stores extra milk in spacial storage plastic bags in freezer for months. Now it has weird bitter taste. Does anyone know why? Could be it from the plastic bags that sold in Babies-r-us? Thank you very much for your help.

Answer: Lol, I applaud you for trying it! I use the Lansinoh storage bags and those do just fine.. the only thing I have noticed is the color changes a bit. The rule of thumb for freezing bm is..

Frozen milk in refrigerator freezer w/ its own door will last 3-4 months.

Frozen milk in a freezer compartment in a refrigerator is up to 2 weeks.

Frozen milk in a deep freezer at 0 degrees will last 6 months.

If it defrosts any whatsoever it need to be used w/in 24 hrs, but must be put in the fridge.. never refreeze. Hope this helps! If you still have problems maybe you could try a different brand of bags.

I am often asked: What can you do with goat's milk in addition to soap and lotion? Well, almost everything you would with regular cow's milk can be made with goat's milk cheese, yogurt, ice cream, butter, etc. You can also add liquid or powder to recipes for all the fudge cream soap for your skin!

After many people asked us this question, I started search on the Internet. We scoured the local stores - Stores countries, agricultural markets, etc. We chose the brain Guards dairy goats. We found many recipes for cheese, and tons of other stuff. You can make mozzarella cheese, ricotta cheese, cottage cheese, cultures for making cheese, goat milk fudge, and more. We even found some recipes for other dairy goat keepers online. Most of dairy goats will sell goat milk, butter milk goat, and several varieties of goat cheese.

You can replace products Goat's milk in your favorite recipes that call for milk. If you are interested in making your own cheese, goat milk, cream ice or yogurt, be sure to see some of our recipes below or you can search Google for your own.

Like most products milk, goat milk can be frozen. Canned or goat milk powder reconstituted to be frozen in plastic or glass containers allowing enough space at the top for expansion. It is recommended that you thaw frozen milk in the fridge and use it within seven (7) days after being thawed. To maintain good flavor, do not freeze goat milk for more than two months. Goat Milk Butter may be frozen for 6 months. We do not recommend the goat cheese quality freezing. (Do not freeze cheese with cow's milk or, if you tried, then you know why they say not to freeze!)

Here are some favorite recipes, but we are always looking for ways to more delicious serving of dairy goats. Please feel free to send us your favorite family recipes!

These dishes are for all fans of goat milk and may call for ingredients such as eggs, nuts or butter and cheese from cows, which some people May be sensitive. Amend revenue by substituting egg substitute, margarine or goat cheese as needed.

Remember, you can replace milk goat in one of your favorite recipes calling for milk!

Simple Soft cheese: This is a simple recipe that requires only 1 / 2 gallon of raw goat milk, juice of 2 lemons strained through a thermometer capable of the range 180-200 ° F, some "cheese" (cotton cloth much work to go), and coarse salt (kosher or sea salt). (This recipe does not work well with pasteurized milk).

• Heat the milk over medium heat (in a stainless steel pot) to 185 ° F

• Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice

• Stir for several minutes until milk has curdled

• Add 1 / 2 tablespoon salt (optional)

• Pour the milk through cheesecloth

• Wrap curd in cheesecloth and hang (using a rubber band works well) in the refrigerator to drain

• Drain for 4-8 hours depending on how dry you want the curds

• Scratch sheet curd into a bowl and mix.

That's all there is to it! Use on toast, in salads, with pancakes - anything you want. Experimentation with herbs (added at the end when you move the cheese). For the largest dung, heat the milk and the 190 before curdling. Experiment with temperature and the coagulation drying time for the cheese that meets your needs.

Cajete (Mexican Caramel Candy)
3 quarts of goat milk
2 tablespoons cornstarch
3 cups sugar
¼ c. tea baking soda
Dissolve baking soda and cornstarch corn in 1 cup of milk. Stir well to dissolve lumps. Add remaining milk and add sugar. Bring mixture to a boil, stirring constantly, for the cooking. Cook until mixture is thick and looks like a caramel sauce. Pour into jars, let cool and refrigerate. This makes a great topping for ice cream and makes a delicious dip for apples!

Fudge
3 cups sugar
2 / 3 cup goat milk
3 / 4 cup margarine
6 oz chocolate chips
7 oz marshmallow creme
1 tsp Tea. vanilla
Mix sugar, milk and margarine in a sauce quart heavy saucepan. Stirring constantly, bring to boil. Reduce heat to medium and continue boiling for five minutes. Remove from heat and stir until melted chocolate chips. Add marshmallow cream and vanilla, beating until well blended. Pour into pan 9 X 13 pan. Cool to room temperature. You can also add nuts if desired. Enjoy!
