State appliance offer to save on energy, cash
Lee Guggenheim of Deerfield will be shopping for an energy-saving and water-saving washer and dryer, both with front-loading doors, when he next upgrades his appliances. With a "cash for appliances" program set for April 16 to 25 in Illinois, shoppers such as Guggenheim can save money on energy-efficient appliances and take advantage of new technology that may make doing the laundry easier.
