Recycle Center

Question: How can I start a recycling center in my area?
i moved to the middle of no where a while back and now i live about 40 miles from the nearest recycling center and would like to do my part to help the environment, but any good i would do by recycling would be out done by the gas i would use to get my recyclables to the center!
Answer: call the nearest recycling company. Colleges usually have a recycling program (or at least a place to dispose of recyclable things).

Recycling is an endeavor that the city of San Diego has actively pursued for almost 20 years. Recycling program the city is under the general supervision of San Diego Environmental Services Department. Housed in Ridgehaven, which is considered one of most buildings in the United States energy efficient San Diego Environmental Services recycling program department's been a great success so far. The rate of waste diversion the city has increased to 52% by 2004.
Basically, the San Diego Environmental Services Department responsibilities cover: collection services, enforcement of regulations on waste from the city of reduction, management of the landfill in Miramar, coordination with different recycling centers and educate the public about the recycling program in San Diego.
Regulation on waste reduction
The city San Diego has a number of regulations that its environmental services department is implementing. These regulations are ordinances against littering, illegal dumping, recovery, recycling contamination, leaving garbage and recycling bins outside the hours of collection, and others. To implement these regulations, the city has officers who are assigned to patrol specific areas of the city.
The Miramar Landfill
The Miramar landfill is the destination for most of the garbage produced by San Diego. According to statistics, 1.4 million tonnes garbage are buried there each year, but this figure is down from 1.8 million tonnes being dumped at the landfill before the creation the Environmental Services Department of San Diego in 1988.
The Miramar Recycling Center is located at the entrance of the landfill. Center Recycling accepts many recyclable materials, including television monitors, computer monitors, printer cartridges and computers. scrap can be recycled here, but for a small fee.
Recycling at home
There are many options for households make recycling at home. They may choose to do with recycling recycling centers provided by the San Diego Environmental Services Department, or with other private companies. Households may also choose to donate their recyclables or to take advantage of periods of recovery.
Recyclable materials accepted in blue recycling bins installed at roadsides in the city are: plastic bottles and jars, bottles and jars glass, newspapers, magazines, catalogs and telephone books, paper bags and paper junk mail, cardboard, food packaging dried, and packaging cans, foil and empty aerosol cans.
The Recycling Program of San Diego is considered one of the most famous of the United States. This recycling program is successful largely due to the active participation and cooperation of city residents.
