Question: why wont my vacuum suck any dirt?
theres a small amount of air being sucked in at the base none from the hose. i ve taken most of it apart and taken out any thing that wold prevent it from sucking (and there was a lot!) but it hasnt made a difference. i have a Dirt Devil vision 12amp 15"wide. theres hardly anything in and around the filter. please help. its only a year or two old but its hardly been used (my girlfriend and i are quite lazy when it comes to housework)
Answer: Only dirt? What does it suck? Kidding. Since you say nothing is stuck in the hose/tube, there could be a small crack in the tube or hose. Have you vacuumed anything even mildy damp lately? That can cause mud build up and block it up. Have you turned it over and looked at the brush? Are there a million strings, lint, rubber bands etc. around the roller? Have you cleaned the filter(s) lately? Just because there's nothing around the filter doesn't mean it's clean. You may need to take an hour or two and a screw driver and go over the whole thing. It's cheaper than having a repair shop charge you $150 or more just to tell you the dogs fuzzy toy was in the hose (so to speak). Also, is this the little inexpensive upright Dirt Devil? Little meaning their entry level upright. If so, just throw it away. They never did give the suction needed to sweep even a clean floor and even the minutest cobweb would jam them up more solid than the Hoover dam. The hand held version does a fantastic job compared to that.
But, check everything. Do you know how many high end expensive vacuums I have aquired over the years because the people thought they were broken? Vacuums are very hard to kill. You have to really work at it to really kill one. You generally cannot hurt it. Just get a little dirty and you'll fix it.
One lady tossed a brand new $1,500.00 machine in the dumpster because she thought it was broken. I looked at it and the cord. She'd vacuumed the cord. A little black tape and it was good as new. ( & yes I gave it back to her )

The Bible is often called the sword of the Spirit. Indeed, it is a powerful weapon in the hands of those who know how to exercise it.
Hebrews 4:12 tells us that the Word of God is alive, active and full of power. God and His Word are one. The first chapter of John's Gospel tells us that in the beginning was the Word. It will then tell us that the Word became flesh and dwelt on the earth. Do you recognize this description? Who speaks of Jesus. We know that Jesus is God and that He came to earth to redeem us.
The Bible is our first line of defense because it expresses the perfect will of God. It will help us identify the problem and guide us in what to do to overcome this problem.
One of the ways we can use the Call to mind what the Bible says to pray and bring it into our lives. When we do we release our faith in agreement with God. Because God is faithful to honor his word, he enters the scene to bring change and victory.
But here is an extremely important point that we all need to remember: we can not expect the Word of God to work for us if we do not live under his authority. We can not expect to get the benefits of the Word without abandon ourselves to him. Only when we are willing and obedient can eat the good of the earth (see Isaiah 1:19). Only until that we submit to God the enemy fleeing from us (see Jacques 4:7).
The Word of God is the safety and protection for us all fronts: physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually. We have to study so that we can discern the devil's tricks and push him out of our lives.
God wants us to fight and win. So, let's:
(1) Living under the authority of the Word of God by obeying it said. Let's make it our final authority. That means changing anything in our lives who do not agree with the Word of God.
(2) Making the Bible, our first priority in taking the time to read and study each day.
(3) Resist the devil, praying scriptures over our lives.
(4) Continue in the Word and stand firm until the circumstances of our line with the word.
Remember, the Word of God is a weapon. We can use it to destroy the work of the enemy in our lives.
