Protect your investment by taking care of your machine by using these tips. You can avoid fading, shrinking, and Topping dry cleaning, even if you take good care of your clothes.

Vinegar can be your best friend in the Laundry Room. White vinegar works very well on lightening the color, which prevents yellowing of lace or silk, and removing many stains. Vinegar can even help remove gum, mildew and grass stains. Keep a spray bottle half filled with white vinegar and half water may be useful to pretreat stains. Add half a cup of vinegar just before the rinse cycle to help remove detergent residue from your garment. It acts as a Natural Fabric softener, making clothes soft and static free.

Nothing is worse than open the dryer only to discover that your beautiful new red shirt was all stained pink. To avoid the dreaded color prints, wash the items with red dark clothing. Wash them in cold water and use a laundry detergent that says something like "safe for colors", "care color "or" prevents the transfer of dye "on the label. Some detergents are still made for dark fabrics and help all dye in. Use the gentle cycle the first time so that the red or black points are not tight against other tissues.

If the tag says dry clean only, then you should probably follow that advice. But if the tissue is safe to steam, you may be able to avoid dry cleaning until the end of the season when you're ready to store clothing. Put a little vodka in a spritz bottle and spray areas that could begin to smell. Your body can leave bacteria in clothing and vodka safely kills germs that cause odors. You can let the garment air dry or use an extractor to cool clothes above the clothes. Steaming causes less damage an iron and can be used in many fine fabrics.

Use a lint brush for lint and Pet Hair, suits, jackets and shirts. Use an adhesive Lint Roller if the fabric is more delicate. A lint brush can sometimes make it appear fuzzy fabric, which is great for some things, like flannel, but you may want to use a Lint Roller for fragile objects.

Synthetic materials may melt at high temperature. You should put your dryer on a "normal" or even put down to avoid shrinkage and permanent wrinkles. Door-clothes in the Laundry Room are great to hang synthetic drying. If you reduce accidentally pull wool and / or son of cotton-based, you can return to its normal size by immersing in water hot mixed with shampoo. The shampoo loosens and softens the son, you can gently pull the sweater back to its original shape and size.
