Question: Is it safe to eat off of hand painted porcelan dinnerware?
I know some painted dishes have traces of lead. These dishes were given to me and there is no warning on the box. They are Coventry Hibiscus hand painted dishes. Made in China
Answer: hard to tell unless you know what type of glaze they used. i would contact the manufacturer to be sure. there's really know way to tell just by looking at it. although most non-decorative porcelain is food-safe. if it came in a box that says dinnerware on it then it's most likely food safe. but call or email the manufacturer to be sure.
