Question: high speed?
i live in the country is there any kind of high speed i can get so i don't have to use dial up every time i cheak it's like the only thing out here is dial up
i live in virginia and i hate dial upAnswer: Well if you had been more specific as to where you were I could easily tell you your options.
Do you have cable? If so check their website to see if they offer Internet broadband access.
Check with your phone company's web site to see if they offer DSL service of some kind in your area. If you have verizon they may also offer FIOS fiber (if you are real lucky that is).
If that fails then look into what cellular service you have and see if they offer a broadband package. Verizon and AT&T I know offer PCMCIA cards for laptops (but they will work with desktops as well) that have broadband connectivity.
If ALL of those fail and you still want something faster you can look into using two modems (or one multiplexed modem) over two phone lines. I did this years ago with my laptop when I traveled on the road but have not done it in years.
