Question: What type of steam engine is better at pulling heavy loads?

I'm building a steam buggy(small steam car) in the near future, one that I can sit down on and drive. I want to know what engine I should use. I'm focused mainly on horsepower, and keeping it under 600 pounds. As far as the speed goes, probably around 20-45 mph. I've been looking at oscillating cylinders for the most part. It's pretty easy to build and I can add a second piston no problem. But I don't know if that would have very good horsepower.

Answer: I would suggest you do some research into the Stanley Steamer. It was the last real steam driven automobile. There are several of them still running. You can probably get a lot of good information from them.

Question: how to reset a steam vac?

Hoover has no power, after turning off, and emptying the tank.

Answer: Be sure the tank is properly in place. This may be the reason it's not coming back on. They don't have a reset button to the best of my knowledge. Good Luck! =)

Question: Hard Floor Steam cleaner ?

Has anyone tried the Steam Vortex or something similar? I have all hardwood floors and a large tile floor in my kitchen and with 2 kids and 4 dogs, it seems like the floors are always dirty despite the fact I vacuum everyday and mop everyother day. There has to be a easier way! I once had the floormate and was not impressed plus it died after a year.
I'm talking about steam cleaners that use only water and steams to disinfect and clean, not chemicals.

Answer: They are Great!!! But pending your wood floor's seal and grooves are even & level if there is a condition be careful!!due to h2o damaging wood and causing to warp /discolor/stain! It must be Varithaned / coated / SEALED!!! If the newer wood floors you dont have a problem!! Just be sure you have a towel handy incase theres left water!!
