Question: Price estimates on LCD laptop screen repairs?

Okay, I've had this laptop for almost 5 years. I know it's old, but I just got a new harddrive installed and it runs beautifully, so I want to keep it. A month or two ago, the backlight died, or from what I hear could be the LCD converter giving out. Either way, the screen is next to black and I want it repaired. Most places charge just to look at it, so I'm wondering if anyone knows how much replacement of any of these things usually costs. Thanks!

Answer: Probably more than it is worth! But how can we tell you a price? We don't know where you live, or what kind of repair places are nearby. Or whether or not you will be shipping it out to be repaired or not. There's just no way to tell you!

Question: Whats the best way to clean leather furniture/upholstery? How do you stop it from drying out?.?

I have a light in color, almost white, leather couch. Who has, or who is the master of and making it look like new.

Answer: mechanics handsoap. you want something WITHOUT pumice (grit), it can scratch the leather. You should also stay away from anything "orange" it dries out leather.
put the soap on the leather wipe it with towels until clean. wipe it again after with a damp towel. Apply a leather conditioner, this is what keeps it from drying out. I also suggest you apply a leather protector after to keep it from getting stained. Armour All is usually the best

Question: Does dial liquid soap get rid of acne???

I have been stuck with acne since 5th grade my mom told me that if i use liquid antibacterial dial soap will get it off i have benn using it for a week i see a little bit of results i'm not sure if it will work..

Answer: Dial antibacterial hand soap is far too harsh for use on your face. This will actually cause more breakouts. Your mom is right that acne is caused by bacteria, but that kind of cleanser will not kill it without damaging your skin.

Also, stay away from ProActiv -- it destroys your skin. Toothpaste is also overdrying, and you should never go out in the sun without sunscreen!

You can go to a dermatologist, but before you go for prescription drugs, here's a list of things you can try:
1. There are a lot of cheap but excellent gentle facial cleansers out there. Try Clean & Clear Foaming Facial Cleanser for Sensitive Skin ($3.79), Olay Sensitive Skin Foaming Face Wash ($3.99), or Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser for Normal to Oily Skin ($5.99). Wash your face once in the morning and once at night, but don't scrub or pull at the skin.
2. Toners are good for all skin types. The cheapest good one there is seems to be Beauty Without Cruelty Balancing Facial Toner for All Skin Types ($7.95), but it is only sold in health food stores. In general, though, toners are expensive. Do NOT buy toners with alcohol, oils, or witchhazel, as these will dry your skin.
3. For the blemishes, you'll need a Benzoyl peroxide product. Now, here's the catch: cheaper products come in 10% concentrations, which may be too harsh for you, and there are more expensive 2.5% and 5% concentrations. I would strongly advise trying Neutrogena On-the-Spot Acne Treatment Vanishing Formula 2.5% ($6.75) before moving onto the stronger Clean & Clear Persa-Gel 10, Maximum Strength ($3.49).
4. You also need a BHA solution. BHA gently (important word, here) exfoliates your skin's surface and the inside of your pores. The cheapest one I know of (with no irritating ingredients) is Clearasil Acne Fighting Facial Moisturizers ($3.99).

Good luck! Remember, if this doesn't work, you can always get a prescription for something stronger.
