Many owners rely on sump pumps to take water from their basements. However, a frozen sump pump can cause major worries.

During the colder months, a concern for many is the freezing water as possible in the discharge line from the sump pump or around the foundation, has causing potential damage not only to the sump pump, but also at home.

Grading
An important step in prevention of any type of water damage to your home is to create a slope of land around your house so that water will be directed away from Foundation - this is called "classification". Because water flows over the hill, landscaping your property and that water flows away from home will prevent seepage into the basement during a storm, and keep water expelled by your sump pump to drain back into the house. Walk around your house after a heavy rain and verify the pooling near the foundation; puddles indicate the sections of your property that need further classification.

Sump Pump Models

Question: Is discharge clear if you've never gotten your period?

I've never gotten my period before. My discharge is clear, and I've been having it for a year, but it's been heavy for the last month or so, maybe longer. My boobs are a little tender right now, but especially when I touch the nipples. I'm flat-chested, but they grew a little bit lately. Could these be signs of my first period coming?

Vaginal yeast infection is called candidiasis. It is a fungal infection caused by a number of species of Candida, including Candida albicans is the most common type. Question: above ground well pump pressure?

I have an above ground well, and my water pressure stinks. if i'm using the washer or garden hose, there isnt enough water to flush the toilet or pour a glass of water. Can I get a replacement well pump that pumps a higher pressure and volumn?

Answer: You can adjust the pressure switch for a higher cut in or cut out pressure. Usually 20-30 lbs. cut in and 40-50lbs. cut out. You might need a bigger tank for more volumn. You probably have either a jet or a sandpoint or a foot valve in the bottom of the well that might have a plugged screen. If your pump is old or has pumped sand through it, the impellers could be worn enough not to be effecient. P.S. Your tank could also be water-logged. It must have a cushion of air on top of the water.
