Patio Cigarette Smokers

Patio Cigarette Smokers

Question: How to compromise with smoking neighbors?

I'm a non-smoker with allergies, and I live on the second floor of a two-story apartment building, and get along pretty well with all my neighbors.
The neighbor underneath me and next door to me both smoke cigarettes. I don't know if they smoke indoors (this may be against the rules), but a few times a week they smoke outside. If they smoke out back on the patio/balcony, it wafts in through my windows... If they smoke out front on the steps, it wafts in under my front door (there's a small gap that lets in both cold and smoke. It's not that I see them doing it... I'll be sitting in my home, even on the opposite side from where they are, and smell smoke and start looking around for what's burning until I remember to look outside.

Now, it's not fair to me that I have to inhale their unhealthy and smelly second-hand smoke, and that my home has to reek of their smell... but I know it's not fair to them to not let them smoke anywhere. Any ideas on how we can peacefully co-exist?

Answer: Honestly, I don't know what you can do. Are you truly allergic to smoke (i.e. when you smell it, you start coughing, eyes water, throat swells shut), or do you just dislike the smell of it? If it's the former, tell them this. If it's the latter, well, I don't think you have any choices. Maybe ask your landlord to fix the gap underneath your door (sounds like bad weather stripping), and maybe close your windows long enough for them to smoke, then open them back up when they've gone back inside.

You do not want your direct mail to end up in the trash with the rest of unread messages? Studies show an effective direct mail campaign should draw a response .5 To 1 percent. These 10 tips will help you get the results you want:

1. A clear, bold title. On the envelope or front of the sender should be a central message. The best way to achieve this is a bold, Headline clear that it is not cluttered by other texts. A good test is to have as complete at least 15% of the face of the sender.

2. A graph that supports the message. The graphics should be easy to understand and add to the message title is trying to convey. For example, if you try to get people to list their home you want to show a house with SOLD sign clearly visible before. This graph reinforces the message to a simple picture of a house.

3. Color that appears. Write the title and text stand out from others by using a color that stands out from the background color. When you look at the map, ask yourself: "What I see first?" If your answer is not the title, you may want to adjust the colors.

4. Subtitles leading text. If you have one or two paragraphs of text with no lead in the, there is nothing that encourages people to actually read the copy. A subtitle give people a place to start reading. If you only have 100 words or so you may be able to get away with, but if the text is longer than everything the average reader will want some landmarks along the path.

5. Benefits, benefits, benefits. One of the most are large errors in advertising is showing the features rather than benefits. For example, never assume recipients know what is benefit can be derived from a rate lower interest on their mortgage. Let them know how their monthly payments will decrease.

6. Offer. An offer is always a good idea and should be a specific reason to call now, as "Limited supply" or "interest rates are climbing."

7. Your company name and logo. Although this should be on the mailer, it should not overshadow the offer. Customers care most about what you can do for them.

8. Call to Action. Tell prospects exactly what you want them to do. "Call today for more information or we See online "are two of the most common desired.

9. Contact information. Include your name, phone number and address Web direct response to the call to action. Everything you ask candidates to do, give them the means to do so easily.

10. Return address. A return address ensures you'll get mail back to the post office and sends a message that you're a professional. People feel better knowing now they are dealing with has a real situation.

Classic Can Liners

Classic Can Liners

Question: Which fading clippers should I choose and which are better? Andis Fade Master or Oster 76 Classic?

Long story short, my girlfriend is willing to buy me a set of clippers. I am looking to use it mainly for fading hair (1 1/2 on top and either bald or skin fade).

I have been doing research and both the Andis Fade Master and Oster Classic 76 are best sellers, but in my case which of the two would you rather get? I am new to the barber game so I need help on this one. Or is Wahl Senior good also?

Also, what is a good T-Liner?

So what is the best choice and why? Thanks everyone!

Answer: Oster 76 are rotary clippers. Rotary clippers take interchangeable blades like a #1.5 blade(4.0mm = 8-9 day's hair growth) that snap on and off. I don't mean plastic clipper guards but the actual blades. There is no taper lever on an Oster 76. It is not a clipper used to taper hair. An Andis Fade Master is an Andis Master fitted with a fade blade. The taper lever adjusts the cut between #00000(0.2mm=10 hour's hair growth) and #000(0.5mm=24 hour's hair growth) by flicking the taper lever. A regular Andis Master adjusts between #000(0.5mm = one day's hair growth) and #1(2.4mm=5 day's hair growth.)
#1.5 on top is an extremely short butch cut. On about 90% of guys, a crew cut more fully suits.

Michael Perlowin innovates with innovative music and pleasant and surprisingly made primarily on the pedal steel guitar.

As for his forays into the world of Debussy, Stravinsky and Broadway with his Firebird Suite albums and West Side Story, Michael Perlowin is overwhelming yet the stereotype of the pedal steel guitar as a country-and-western-only instrument. In his new album, Spanish Steel, he presents 20 tracks from or about Spain, with works Manuel de Falla, Isaac Albéniz, Joaquin Rodrigo, Julio Martinez Oyanguren, and Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.

This new album sees Perlowin continues to alternate between the use of the pedal steel as both a star and a comprehensive instrument. However, this disc includes Labor Perlowin guitar more than his previous outings, the guitar is an integral part of Spanish music. It is fair to say that this is not so much a "pedal steel guitar album" as it is a music album in which the steel is predominantly featured for its unique expressive sound.

Perlowin, a veteran guitarist of the folk scene and rock music around LA, became enamored of the pedal steel guitar after unexpectedly finding himself working on a country and western band in the mid 70. The infatuation blossomed into an all-consumers love story, an intense passionate obsession that continues to this day. Perlowin calls jokingly himself a steel "addict" and adds that the intricacies and mysteries of the instrument cause most other players feel the same way.

As a guitarist, Perlowin played virtually all types of popular music, standards, folk, rock, country, blues, reggae and even disco. Playing pedal steel guitar, however, Perlowin found he was unhappy when confined to country music and Western. It begins playing the steel with musicians from different genres, including an all instrumental experimental Music Band and a group of blues rock href = "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkSnoeTWR4I"> (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkSnoeTWR4I).

Finally, the World classical music has attracted Perlowin's. A recording of "The Maid of Debussy With the Flaxen Hair" by jazz guitarist Johnny Smith he discovered the world of literate music. Perlowin explains: "When I heard this song, I realized that it was I wanted to play. "Perlowin's own recording of the piece, which clearly shows Smith's influence can be heard on his first classical album pedal steel Firebird Suite.

"Everyone who plays classical music should be held to listen to this record," said Mark Laycock, Music Director, Orchestra London, The Princeton Chamber Symphony and guest conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra and Indianapolis Symphony. "Mike Perlowin is a musical genius who I am proud to know and learn from them, and honored to have as friend. I love this instrument and the music and the beauty of these sounds delights my soul. "

Perlowin had been slightly exposed to music Classic when he was young and had no music training or formal production. Perlowin second album, West Side Story, shows his growth not as a player, because he had already mastered the instrument, but as a producer, arranger and sound engineer.

However, it is with this third album that his mastery of the recording studio blossomed to match his talents as a virtuoso musician. The Spanish steel, Dave Beyer played drums and percussion, while Bill Watkins contributed timpani samples to complement Perlowin pedal and lap steel guitars, electric and acoustic Openwork and fretless basses, sitar, mandolin, Mandocello, 5-string banjo, autoharp and additional percussion.

Spanish steel is an album completely original and unique Perlowin ambition to show the beauty and expressiveness of the pedal steel guitar. Packed with fascinating liner notes, it is best example to date of the depths of the immense talent Perlowin's. Find it with his other albums at CDBaby.com, SteelGuitarMusic.com, Amazon.com, for examinations and images visit his artist website at http://www.mikeperlowin.com
