Question: How do I find out about all the new fabrics used today? I need to find a special fabric for my project.?

Light,water proof and good at retaining heat. Thanks in advance

Answer: I work for LL Bean and we sell alot of products that are waterproof. Gore-tex wouldn't work because not only is it lightweight and waterproof, but also highly breathable so it won't retain heat unless put together with and insulating layer. Anything windproof (like a windproof fleece) that is also gore-tex or treated with DWR (durable water repellent) should work. But I don't know how lightweight it would be. Also, a nylon fabric that's treated with DWR instead of gore-tex would not be as breathable so it will retain more heat (but still not a whole lot if used in colder elements), and would be lightweight. I suggest you also call LL Bean...800-221-4221..and ask to speak with a product specialist...anytime between 8 am and 10 pm eastern time 7 days a week

A fabric structure is membrane / or fabric under prestress (tension) stage. A structural elements and support system necessary to maintain form of a tension structure of the membrane voltage. Two shapes are evident in the power structures of the canvas.

Fabric structures give natural diffuse light but with a reduced heat load. The high reflectivity of the membrane of white fabric is very effective. A very good alternative to polycarbonate or glass as a roof glazing system.

Wick is the problem internally where water runs along the lines of the wire fabric leading to unsightly staining of tissue and possibly laminating. Warranty for 7-12 years and is dependent tissue type.

Fabric Structures II DRAFT - PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) COATED FIBERGLASS

PTFE is chemically inert and offers excellent self-cleaning properties, fire resistance and life expectancy life generally exceeds twenty-five years.

PTFE coating Fiberglass is very expensive but is competitive with glass. The main problem of PTFE is that it requires very careful handling during the construction phase. The installation of fabric fiberglass coated with PTFE care requires much more detailed and complex than the polyester fabrics coated PVC.

The fabric for tension fabric structures is not weldable with conventional equipment at high frequency, but uses a special iron. Properties special PTFE enable it to be welded and not welded with the same machines. This allows damaged panels to be repaired on site.

Choosing between the Fabric Structures tensile PVC / polyester fabric and fiberglass

There are several factors that must be taken into account when construction of a fabric tension structures and shade sails for the building fabric:

Green car dealerships sell various types of "green cars" or vehicles environmentally friendly. There are 16 car dealers green in 10 states in the United States of America. The distributors are also converting their dealers in green. The main idea is to use less water, less energy and use processes that respect the environment in a place with lots of greenspace.

People initially thought it would not be possible for car dealership to go green. Then the rating system LEED Volunteers came into existence. LEED means Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. This was established by the U.S. Green Building Council to recognize buildings that are environmentally friendly in their custom design and operation. Gensler was the first to design a car dealership Subscribe to a LEED certification. The rating is given based on the quality of the indoor environment and energy efficiency which is satisfied by the dealer. The odds are - Certified, Silver, Gold and Platinum. This rating system provides a uniform way of measuring sustainability a building. Many car dealers have taken this initiative and have gone green. There are at least 16 green dealerships in the United States.

The green car dealership follows some architectural practices. They and especially outside of the building is composed of 80% fiber recycled aluminum, when heat is needed, it comes from waste oil change, car wash uses recycled water, valves, lighting that conserves energy and the carpet is made from windshield glass recycled. Alternative means of transport indicated their preference having bicycle racks and preferred parking for people who carpool. The rainwater is used and plants that require much water as plants resistant to drought and herbs are grown. This type of green car dealership proves it possible for people to go green if they just put their mind to it. In the future, there is a possibility that this initiative will collect and many large companies spend green.
