Question: Travel and money saving tips?

I'm going to be going to Canada soon, and soon after I'll be in Los Angeles. I'm going to have to fly, gas is both expensive and just unnecessary.

So, what tips do you have? I've hit up all the travel sites. I'll be traveling between Kansas City and LA for the second leg of the trip, the company is paying for Canada. I do not care if the flight makes stops or not.

Answer: Where to start.

SWA has one of the best policies regarding cancelled trips; they give you a full credit and no rebooking charge. Their web site is easy to navigate.

Be sure to sign up for the frequent flyer program regardless of which airline you fly. Try to stay in partner hotels and use partner car rentals to rack up more miles and get free trips. Even when traveling for the company.

Pack your worst underwear! Throw it away on the trip to make room for the new stuff you buy.

Use your debit card instead of exchanging money while in Canada. You get a better rate and can just get what you need as you nee it. Try to plan ahead and get extra cash when you make a purchase. Don't accept a 1 for 1 exchange rate which some retailers will try to pull now that the Canadian Dollar has rebounded. You do know that Loonies and Toonies are one and two dollar coins, I hope.

Avoid the chain restaurants like McDonald's or IHOP. Look for local places to make the trip more memorable.

Being a poor student does not mean you have to put your travel plans on hold. In fact travel as a student whatsoever whether at home or abroad, can be done on a small budget because there are many contracts there for you to enjoy.

Use the fact that you are a student to get discounts. Before you travel you get a discount card for students and use it. The ISIC (International Student Identity Card) you will get concessions on attractions, food and shopping among other things. This map is for any student regardless of age or for young people aged between twelve and twenty-six and can be used in more than one hundred countries. The student discount card comes complete with a calling card and a voice mail account. This ensures that you can be contacted during the trip.

Over there is also the International Student Exchange Card (ISEC), which offers discounted travel around the globe. The discounts can be up fifty percent on such things as museums, movies, transportation options and lodging. Not only does this card save you big money while traveling, it also provides other benefits, including a contribution to medical expenses and evacuation costs if found to disaster. You also have access to free emergency services anywhere in the world of phone if you need assistance in situations emergency. The ISE Card will also give you protection in bankruptcy airlines. If you book through an agency ISE covers you if your carrier disappears.

And finally there is the map of International Youth Travel (IYTC) you can get if you're under twenty-six years of age. There is a small charge associated with this card, but the benefits outweigh the costs when you travel. This card will get discounts in some fifty countries including ticket discounts, lodging discounts and entry to tourist attractions at a reduced rate.

Other student cards that offer rebates are travel cards, such as STA Travel card or subscription issued adolescents in the United Kingdom. But deals do not stop there for the students. In western countries, it is wise to ask if there are discounts for students in a where you're going to separate you from your money. The discounts can be given by restaurants, retailers (on just about any what) and youth hostels. Not all places advertise that they offer discounts if you do not ask, you never find what savings you can do.

Students are not the only lucky to get discounts fabulous trip. Seniors have also made deals with their available while traveling as passengers are groups and families. Explore discounts apply and make sure you take advantage of them.

Question: What item do i need to get in order to play a 2nd generation Ipod Nano in a car that does not have a minijack?

I've been looking all over websites and stores for some type of product that can play my 2nd generation ipod nano in my car, which does not have a minijack or a cassette player. I looked at a Belkin Ipod FM Transmitter but it does not fit into a 2nd generation ipod nano, only the old ones. Can anyone give me a list of items that can allow me to play my ipod in my car without having to pull out my stereo and install a bunch of cables?

It's not wireless so there's no chance for interference. Not to be confused with an FM transmitter. It basically adds an AUX port to ANY radio.

It feeds your audio signal from a headphone jack ( or RCA cables) by FM modulation, directly into the antenna input on your radio bypassing the antenna when on, allowing the radio to work as normal when off.

Question: Where can I get a gallon of oil for a Glade plug-in Air Freshener?

OK, those dinky little Glade Air fresheners are starting to add up at $3.19 each. How can I get a gallon of Apple Cinnamon?

I want to "refill the refill" if ya know what I mean.

Answer: I just received an email alert on plug-in air fresheners. Apparently, they are sometimes the cause of house fires. Something to do with the wiring in the air fresheners short circuiting the wall outlet.

I would advise against using any kind of plug-in Air Freshener. No one wants to burn down their home, let alone their family.

If you already own a pond, you know that Koi pond maintenance is not pleasant. I'll tell you how to keep your Koi pond maintenance to a minimum. You do not want to fall behind, it will become harder to maintain. Fortunately for koi and goldfish, can live in poor conditions, however, for us it just means we could not even see the problems in the pond and will continue to get dirtier and maintenance of your pond you will control nuts.

If you want the minimum maintenance koi pond conditions water need to be perfect, or at least close to perfection. Well what does this mean? This simply means that at such that nitrites, nitrates and ammonia, should be minimized. High levels means more maintenance pond. What causes rates high this is one of two things, or a combination thereof; stocking your pond, or have inadequate or insufficient filtration. A model common mistake is to overfill the basin, which is very easy to do as they grow to be very big in a short time. The more fish you have more filtration and required more maintenance pond, you have to do!

If you have not done your annual maintenance pond again in early spring, we'd better SOON! You do not want to fall behind and do your worst pond maintenance. The first thing to do is to remove as much black as you can from the bottom pond. Cut and remove dead vegetation. To clean your carpets and filter media bio, just shake them and give a good flush with water pond, not tap water. Never clean your filters tap water because it contains chlorine and will kill the beneficial bacteria. Cool water mid-point of emptying and filling with water dechlorinated. You may want to try to do so slowly, where the immune system of koi are low, you do not want to shock them. Be sure to dechlorinate the water. I use dechlorinator which comes in powder form. You simply mix a little water and distribute around the pond. It is much cheaper than liquid dechlorinator. For the same price you can get about 10 times the amount of dechlorinator.

So, you've done everything you've done your annual operation and maintenance of its pond still unclear and maintaining your pool is just endless ... What do you do now? If you constantly clean, and constantly pulling filamentous algae, it may be time to consider adding another or larger filter to minimize maintenance of your pond. There are several options, but be sure to choose is the right size for your pond. And if your problem is too many fish, I doubt you'll have to get rid of them to purchase a filter that can handle the amount of fish or start to build a bigger pond.

Pond clarity can be controlled using many different products. UV filters and great work Quick to get rid of green water! There are also quick fixes and fish safe chemicals, you can use to help you, but remember not correct the problem. A simple trick to keep the water clear is the use of barley straw. And another thing I highly recommend reduced maintenance my pelvis was the use of gravel traps debris floating around it and clouding the water.

Do not spend all summer pond maintenance! These tips should help you minimize the maintenance of your koi pond and let you enjoy your pool more!
