Does any one know of a very powerful suchion canister vacuum cleaners. Im looking for a really powerful one that is relitivly small but cleans good. Does anyone know of any. Also I don't want upright cleaners.

Question: Hoover steamvac deep clean blowing air instead of sucking?

I borrowed a Hoover Deep Clean Steamvac to clean my carpet and it seems to be blowing air instead of sucking water & crud in. Any ideas?
Where is the intake tank latch? Is it the one to lock it into place or a different one?

Answer: i also have one. the only latch i can tell you about is the one that holds the water tank in place. shut the cleaner off, lay the handle all the way on the ground using the pedal that holds the handle up. lift up on the handle for the water tank and remove the plastic container. empty the dirty water out by just turning the tank upside-down, then refill that tank with as hot a water as you can find. underneath the front of the steamer from one side to the other the is a small slit that sucks (vacuums )the water back into the outside of that water tank that you just put the hot water in. the tank has a rubber or plastic bladder in it. clean water to the inside of the bladder, dirty vacuumed water to the outside of the bladder. make sure that slit i spoke is CLEAN of all debris. i can't think of anything Else that would prevent the cleaner from vacuuming up the water except the answer that was given about shag rugs.
