Question: Can breathing in the dust/dirt from a baseball game hurt my baby?

There was a contest for digging in the dirt for a key to a car and it was wild dirt was everywhere and when i blew my nose it was all black... Do you think this can harm my un born baby? I am ten weeks pregnant.

Answer: congrats on the car! No, I don't think it can hurt the baby. That's not the way that it works. If the dirt had possibly been near where grass had been sprayed with pesticides, maybe. But just dirt, won't do anything to you I might suggest, for your own self not to keep breathing dirt, haha, but your baby will be just fine. Question: Will this get rid of my dust allergy symptoms almost completely?

I'm slightly allergic to maple and dog. But my allergy to dust and mites are so severe, that they were unable to be scaled because they were so high. I use an air purifier, enclosed my mattress, I take Calritin D, Zyrtec, vacuum using wearing a mask, and use a neti pot every day to relieve my symptoms, but it's not enough. The symptoms bug me everyday and just get worse by the month. If I replace all my 20+ year old carpeting with hard wood flooring, will this make a drastic improvement in my allergies?

I replaced all my old carpeting in my old house with ceramic tile and hard wood and am slowly doing that in the present house. It does two things - it helps reduce the dust allergies, and it's so much quicker and easier to just Swiffer up the dust bunnies than to run a vacuum. Plus, the Swiffer uses static electricity to grab onto the dust so far less is kicked up.

Wonder how I came to look for redeeming qualities of the dust mite? It was quite by accident!
