Question: What is the general need for suit quantites in a professional man's closet?

My boyfriend was asked to improve his wardrobe and we would like to know what the general concensus is for the amount of suits one needs to have in his closet for a five day work week?

Answer: Does he really need to wear a suit every day of the week? If not, two suits should be just fine. If he can only afford one, navy is the most versatile. Other good choices are gray or black. Supposedly, gray is in style this year.

For the days he doesn't wear a suit, nice slacks with a dress shirt and tie should be fine. Depending on the job, it's sometimes good to keep a sports jacket in his office or cubicle just in case he needs it unexpectedly.

Also, you need to know the dress code where he's working. Some places are more casual, which can mean casual Friday or, it could mean it's ok to wear casual clothes most of the time.

Just keep in mind business casual is not the same as the casual clothes you'd wear to a rock concert or to the beach. And what constitutes business casual varies from workplace to workplace. Sometimes, it means dress slacks and a shirt, but no tie. Other times it means you can wear a golf type shirt...is that the right word? If it's a business environment, a shirt with a collar is almost always required, though.

Question: Do you think a gold buckle belt would be okay with a black bag with silver buckles?

I saw this black belt with gold buckle at a shop and went so well with this dress I picked up recently. Usually, i wouldn't go for gold but I really thought it complimented well with my dress. But, the problem is I own a black bag with silver buckles (fairly noticeable). Yay or nay on the belt?
Most of my accessories are silver~ I don't own any gold.

Answer: I wouldn't mix gold with silver on the buckles.
