Question: where can I find a shepherds hook deck stand that can be screwed into the deck.?

I have a shepherds hook that has four hangers, the bottom has 4 wings on it. I want a stand that can be nailed or screwed into the deck that this can be set into for stability.

Answer: I couldn't believe how hard this was to look up! I found nothing available. What about if you were to call your local welding shop, and get them to fashion you one? Or if you knew a welder personally, I bet they could make you one for a rather low price....Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance!

Question: Need advice on making heat pad for my friend.?

I'm making a heat pad filled with rice for my friend for Christmas (the kind you stick in the microwave), and I have a couple of questions:
What kind of material should I use? Fleece, cotton, some kind of satin?
I also want to put something that smells good in it as well. At first I was thinking of dried lavender, but I haven't been able to find any. Is there anything else like that that I could use? Or if I used pillow mist and sprayed that inside the pillow, would the smell stay even when she microwaved it?

Answer: Can you give it to her along with the pillow mist? Lavender is a great idea for the scent....it's supposed to relax you. Maybe you could find some lavender potpourri or a lavender sachet to put inside. I'm just thinking the scent will fade over time....so the pillow spray is a great idea. Very creative gift!

If you've shopped for new kitchen cabinets recently, you know it is often much more economical to refinish your old cabinets, than buying new ones. Here are 8 tips that will make your kitchen cabinet refinishing a huge success.

1. If your cabinets are painted, remove the paint with chemical stripper. If your cabinets are stained or varnished is clean, shallow wells or delete most of the stain or varnish with a Refinisher chemicals.

2. Take Off Your cupboard doors and remove the handles and hardware. It will be much easier if you lay the doors flat to work.

3. Check to see how much damage is there for the firms. If only minor damage, such as black spots around the handles door, just clean these areas. Use a synthetic pad steel wool because it will not hurt your fingers or get stuck on the wood grain.

4. Dip pad in paint thinner, mineral spirits or turpentine and rub spots. Then gently rub the surface, cleaning and obscured so that the new finish will stick. 5. Once you've cleaned the surface and removing dark stains, wipe on an oil finish transparent as Minwax. All finishes are clear, low odor, and most are available in gloss or satin. Apply several coats for a thicker finish.

6. If you think you need to redo more than a few areas stained, use a chemical Refinisher - a cleaning solvent and dissolved solids removes some of the old varnish. Ask an expert from your local paint store to offer a good quality conditioner.

7. When you use Refinisher the chemicals, work in small areas, and rub the finish line with a synthetic steel wool pad. The chemical will remove Refinisher the finish line and even the color of the wood and stain. Rinse the pad more Refinisher when it gets clogged with dirty finish.

8. The Cabinet surface should be smooth and evenly colored after rubbing the whole surface. If you find that it is not, simply delete all Cabinet in long strokes overlap with Refinisher clean and steel wool in either long overlapping movements. Most patches of color remain, and the wood is very smooth.

It is extremely important that you wear protective clothing and make sure your workspace is well ventilated when you are refinishing your cabinets. And remember to follow all safety precautions on labels refinishing products.
