Question: A Lamination Question!!?

I laminated a classroom book about a week ago. I think the lamination machine wasn't hot enough because in some places it didn't stick and adhere at all.

Can I place it on place the book on an Ironing Board, cover it with a towel and iron it together? Does lamination film work AFTER THE FACT? or is it...sort-of ruined?

Answer: I have tried to re-laminate before. It can be done, no problem. However, it is not a very good job and you may be disappointed. It tend to have crease lines throughout it.

I have also tried the ironing business. Don't waste your time as it doesn't work. Doesn't get hot enough.

I do think that you didn't let the laminator warm up enough. When I plug our in I wait about 15 minutes before I start any laminating. Perhaps I wait too long, but I've done what you have done a few times, and now I wait just to make sure.

As I said, try re-laminating and if it doesn't work then " is it...sort-of ruined?" Yes it is.

i hate to iron, but my husband wears a uniform that must be pressed.
ne1 know ne tricks or ideas to make this torture easier?
there is no dry cleaners within 30 miles, so that is out.

also, does ne1 know how or remember how to make the homemade starch? my grandmother used to put the clothes in a wash tub of starch then hang on the line to dry before pressing.

Question: Any help to lead me in the right direction on a older Game set?

I have a older game set which my father aquired some where in Europe during WW2.I have had no luck through out the years getting it identified or its value.I have identified it to several appraisers but they told me they had no clue.It is in a Leather covered case and includes a chess set which looks partly machined because there are multiple pices screwed together,checker set,Playing board,domino set,spinning dice like items,many assorted different color chips in their individual trays,dice,wooden rolute wheel and ball,2 sets of cards, dishes for the chips ,lead pens,pencils and pads of playingscore cards.Any body able to lead me in the right direction so I can get it identified and find its value would be great.

Answer: The scoring cards could be for bridge. One place that comes to mind is the Antiques Roadshow people if you could make contact with them somehow. They always seem able to identify things. Another option is to find an auctioneer - often they know all kinds of things about old things. I would also try making some contacts at senior citizens homes and see if someone there can identify it and maybe give you a lead. Best of luck.
