Question: What foods are considered "cold foods"?

In Asian society, cold foods are considered bad for the digestion, and must be eliminated from the diet in order to heal the stomach. This "cold" does not refer to food temperature, but rather how the stomach reacts or receives the food.

Answer: The precaution against foods considered energetically cold, such as watermelon and green tea refers to the tendency of the digestive system to react poorly to cold. Cold foods need not be eliminated, but must be taken in moderation, balanced with warm cooked food or spices. Eat what is in season and locally grown and you usually can't go wrong.

Although it is difficult for some of you to transform your diet completely, you do not need to go 100% Gross. Electric steamers are one of the most versatile of the kitchen. Electric steamers, in some stores, may also be called rice cooker / food steam. Whatever the name, steam your vegetables and your rice is a healthy way to prepare a tasty meal.
