Question: Where can I purchase Velvet, Satin, or Speciality Lingerie hangers at a reasonable price?

The most reasonable satin hangers I've found were 40 for $100.00. There has to be some place with better prices.The velvet and lingerie hangers are not as expensive, but still a bit pricey.

You want to keep your ball gown or ball gown in good condition, especially if you want to resell it later for the best price.

Storing Your Prom Dress

Over there are two basic methods for storing your ball gown. One is to fold it carefully in paper towels and store in a box with a little Cedar logs and / or a few sheets of Fabric Softener. OR you can fold it over a hanger at the waist (back side of the hanger) and place in a bag of clothes.

Remember, this is a long heavy coat. Hang your coat up by the shoulders or straps may cause stretching straps or fabric in the shoulders. You can also hang your dress by the straps and ribbons and then drape the rest of the dress on another parasite to the knees. This will prevent also stretch. Personally, I take no chances. I crossed all the dresses.

Coming Out of Storage

You will need to wear dress or prom dress store several days before your event. There are several ways to remove wrinkles and restore freshness.

One is to hang clothes in the bathroom for a hot shower to steam the wrinkles of the dress. I prefer this method to use boat hand. Steamers need a little salt in water to make them work properly. Salt is very corrosive and can damage the tissue with time.

Another way to remove wrinkles is to liberally mist the dress with a mixture of water containing a splash of Fabric Softener. Then hang the dress somewhere on the road. Let the water and the weight of the dress to gradually reduce wrinkles. This is not the best approach for silk or satin.

Some dresses just ironing silk, satin, etc. Ironing with steam is acceptable if you do not use salt. But be very careful --- some fabrics will change color slightly when ironed with steam - especially those of a lighter shade. So test a part weak. This is usually not a problem for black robes. For added protection, you can place a piece of grocery bag not printed between the robe and sword.

After the Party

The day after the party use a warm washcloth to remove stains and underarm deodorant. You really want to do so as soon as possible as some deodorants can lighten or discolor fabric over time. Leave your dress air for a day or two before storing. It is also a good time to gently mist with water / Fabric Softener.
