Question: What's the wildest thing you've done in a club?

I went to a club in this little town in Germany with a friend. We told the DJ that we are professional dancers from America and asked him to play a particular song for us and if he did, we'll get on stage and dance.

so, the DJ put the song on for us and we got on two seperate (small) stages. He made some announcement on the mic and put a spot light on us. Sooooo....here come running a bunch of girls asking us to strip.

It was so effin' hilarious.

Answer: Amsterdam, drugs and prostitutes ... Need I say more? I think my husband was absolutely blown away ....

Otherwise .. Uh I went into a lesbian club then a gay guys club I had a blast.

I guess I did stripping a few times but I didn't really think it was fun

The short and easy answer is "YES".

Indeed, one who graduated from high school and has a good idea to own language can make a comfortable living as an independent trainer in Germany.

However, preparatory work is not necessary to avoid disaster.

Over the years I have seen so many people are full of enthusiasm to leave in tears a few months short. I can not guarantee success, but if you follow the 5 guidelines below, then your adjustment will be much easier.

1. Learn some basic German.

You do not have to be articulate but a few months before your trip, you should buy a book of basic sentences. "Where is the train station? "" How much does it cost? "Etc.

Make sure it has a phonetic pronunciation guide.

It does not matter if your German was terrible at first, until you make the effort to speak the language, and most natives do their best to help you.

DO NOT miss "Hey dude, where can a guy get a mickey dees and a cold bottle of foam in this city?" Although many West Germans had some English in school most of them have forgotten it. How much high school French or Spanish Do you remember?!

2. Brush up your grammar.

Native speakers use complex grammatical structures without thinking what they are called.

Now you need to learn the names and when they are used. DO NOT PANIC!

Remember you learn the language, just brushing up.

Basically you learn the lingo.

A TOEFL certificate is a big advantage and you can follow the course in the evening or on weekends. It's worth the relatively small price you pay.

3. Observe the culture.

Search the net, reading and watching the German authors German films.

Germans are much more reserved than the British or Americans and need a little more time to warm up. Do not confuse with animosity. Once you gain their confidence you will not find more loyal friends. Eating in Street may be frowned upon but a bottle of beer on the way home from work is not really irrelevant.

4. Your papers ready.

On the People here are very organized and for us, perhaps a bit too bureaucratic.

Make sure you have all your papers relevant education, the tax information. , Social Security, etc.

You must also register for a work permit but most schools you assist in this process. Although the authorities are more tolerant of non-German speakers, they still expect everything to be exactly right. If you organize your work permit for yourself, then try to have a speaker bi-lingual with you.

5. Having a "plan B".

Even with the greatest preparation things can sometimes go wrong.

Make sure you have a ticket open return, travel insurance and adequate emergency fund with you if things do not go as planned.

It could be that you get here and the culture shock is too great, perhaps you have an accident ski on your day off or a trainer of English is not all you thought it would.

Prevention is better than cure.

I hope I never painted too dark a picture. After all I am married to a German woman and are now happily adapted to life here. Living and working in Germany can be a fantastic experience and completely change your life positively as long as you do a little planning before your trip.
